Safe Ministry

All who are 18 years and over who work with children and youth are required by law to provide a Working With Children Check number.

If you don’t yet have a WWCC number, it’s a relatively simple process to obtain one. 

Just go to the Office of the Children's Guardian website. Select ‘Apply for your check’ and follow the prompts.  As you are a volunteer, there is no cost for the application.

Safe Ministry training can be completed online. To access the training online, go to the Safe Ministry website and follow the prompts.

You will need to complete the Essentials Course which takes up to 5 hours to complete, with self-paced modules and then a webinar at the end.

Once this course is completed, your training remains valid for three years, after which time a Refresher course will need to be completed for your training to remain valid.

The church can help cover the cost of the training. If you would like to take up this offer, please contact the church office to receive a code and some instructions.

This is a document pack outlining some of our church policies and principles, as well as a declaration that you’re keen to do ministry in line with those principles. This shouldn’t take too long and is the last step in the process.

The pack includes a copy of the Code of Conduct (Faithfulness in Service), Ministry Blueprint, a Role Description and also the Safe Ministry Check form to complete.

Only the Senior Minister and one admin staff will see this form. An electronic copy is kept securely and any paper copies are shredded.
