Terms and Conditions

Entry

Adult: To enter you must fill out the Entry Form. $25 entry fee, maximum of two artworks. Payment must be made via the form. Entry Fees are non-refundable.

Student (Years 9-12): To enter you must fill out the Entry Form. $10 entry fee, maximum of two artworks. Payment must be made via the form. Entry Fees are non-refundable.

In the event that the Factory Art Prize needs to be cancelled for any reason all registration fees will be refunded.

Eligible Artists

Open to all local Blue Mountains LGA artists (or those affiliated with the Blue Mountains) and students from Year 9–12.

Immediate families of the Prize Judges are not eligible to enter.

Each artist must submit an Artist Biography (no more than 100 words) along with the online entry form(s).

The Artist must ensure that the artwork is original and does not infringe copyright, moral rights, or other rights of any third party. Failure to comply with any of the conditions of entry will deem the entry disqualified and refunds will not be offered.

If in the event that a category does not receive adequate entries, the prize will be awarded at the discretion of the judges.

Theme 'Forgiveness, Forgiven, Forgive.'

Interpretation of this theme and how it applies to the Artwork is at the discretion of the Artist. For inspiration see Theme Commentaries.

An Artwork description (one for each entry) of between 160-250 words informing how the theme is incorporated into the artwork must be submitted with the artwork. The Artwork description will be shown with the Artwork during the exhibition.

Eligible Artworks

Entries from all levels of experience welcome.

The Artwork must have been undertaken and completed by the artist in the 24 months prior to exhibition opening and not previously exhibited.

All artworks can be 2-Dimensional or 3-Dimensional. Artworks can be executed in (but not restricted to) oil, acrylic, watercolour, textiles, pastels, charcoal, ink and mixed media. No photography or digital artworks will be accepted. 

Exhibition

Artwork will be displayed at The Factory, Anglican Churches Springwood, 28 Lawson Road Springwood between Friday 12 April and Sunday 21 April 2024.

Artwork will be displayed at the sole discretion of Anglican Churches Springwood and no discussion will be entered into.

While all care is taken to ensure the safety of artwork, Anglican Churches Springwood takes no responsibility for theft, loss or damaged artwork. Artists are encouraged to insure their work if they are concerned.

Artwork Specifications

Neither the overall height nor overall width of the entire Artwork is to exceed 2 metres.

All artwork must arrive at Anglican Churches Springwood ready to hang.

Artwork must be delivered in person to The Factory on Monday 8 April 2024 between 10am and 4pm only.

Framed: All framed artworks must be wired (picture hanging wire) or have d-rings attached for hanging.

Unframed: All unframed works will be pinned through unless alternative tabs supplied in advance. If you would prefer your work be pinned through tabs, the artist is responsible for providing and preparing works for such installation before drop off.

If your work does not have a sufficient hanging mechanism on the back that will hold the work up for the duration of the exhibition the work will not be hung and you will not be refunded your entry fee.

Works on canvas will be hung via their stretcher frames where appropriate.

Objects: Objects will be displayed on plinths or shelves at Anglican Churches Springwood discretion.

The artist's name AND title of the work MUST be written or labelled on the back of the work itself for clear identification. Unlabelled works may not be exhibited, and in these cases the exhibition fee will not be refunded.

Collection of Artworks

Artwork to be collected on Monday 22 April 2024 between 10am–4pm only.

Sale of Artworks

Artwork can be offered for sale.

Price and Artist contact details can be added to the Artwork description.

Anglican Churches Springwood will not enter into any discussions regarding sale of Artwork.

Insurance

While we will take the utmost care of all artwork, Anglican Churches Springwood takes no responsibility for theft, loss or damage of artwork. It is advised that concerned artists purchase their own insurance.
